Our Gift Shop

Many people don't even realize that we have a gift shop, so we thought we would bring the gift shop to you. Feel free to browse!

A gift for someone special, or a treat for yourself? We have many different styles of mugs, signs, picture frames, scarves, and more.

We also carry seasonal gifts and décor, specifically Christmas ornaments, stocking stuffers, gifts and decorations. We also have many hats and gloves for keeping warm.

Willow Tree.

We might just be the puzzle capital of the world.

We also carry incense and candles, including Yankee candles and products.

Funny signs, primitive décor, mugs, baskets, mason jar products, hat boxes and wall art.

Small gifts are our speciality which is why these small stones are a hit. They make a great stocking stuffer, or a good luck charm to throw in your purse when you need a little serenity.

We have many different types of body creams, too. This corner smells great! We also have houseplants throughout our shop.

Check out the awesome lucky bamboo...

Cactus and Succulents: Part One

We get super excited when we get new cactus and succulents in! There are so many different shapes, sizes and colors.

Despite their spines cactus are a really fun housemate. They don't require too much attention as they don't need very much water. They're used to the dessert, so they thrive in dry soil. A good soak about once or twice a month is usually ideal.

Oh, and they have adorable little flowers, too. Here's one that's just starting to bud...

Succulents are great if you like a plant that has the same minimal care requirements of a cactus, but little to no spines.

We just love how interesting each plant is, don't you? Do you have a favorite?

Next time we'll share some tips and ideas for creating small succulent gardens using different specimens and mediums.

Springing into Action

We still have a few more weeks of Winter but we could not be any more excited for Spring. We've been preparing for the next season some time now, planting primrose, pansies and pretty little bulbs.

Take a look at our babies...

   Pretty pansies!

   And primrose!

If you're in a hurry for warmer weather and new life, Spring into our greenhouses!

Welcome!

Hi there!

All of us at The House by the Side of the Road thought it might be fun to start a little blog! We thought it best to start with a little greeting; a mission statement, from us to you.

First, we would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who support what we do, and give us the inspiration to continue to do what we love; Grow plants! You love plants just as much as we do, and it means so much to us that we get to play in the dirt each day because it puts a smile on your face! So, a big thank you, from all of us, we couldn't do it without you!

Second, we understand that you have a lot of plant-related questions. To us, this blog is here to help with that. We'll be posting articles that we love, answers to frequently asked questions, and we'll try to answer any questions that you leave on this forum, as well. Our mission is to ease your mind when it comes to plant care, and we'll try to do that as best and as often as we can.

So, without further ado we present The House by the Side of the Road blog! Thanks for stopping by!
