Cactus and Succulents: Part One

We get super excited when we get new cactus and succulents in! There are so many different shapes, sizes and colors.

Despite their spines cactus are a really fun housemate. They don't require too much attention as they don't need very much water. They're used to the dessert, so they thrive in dry soil. A good soak about once or twice a month is usually ideal.

Oh, and they have adorable little flowers, too. Here's one that's just starting to bud...

Succulents are great if you like a plant that has the same minimal care requirements of a cactus, but little to no spines.

We just love how interesting each plant is, don't you? Do you have a favorite?

Next time we'll share some tips and ideas for creating small succulent gardens using different specimens and mediums.
